ABOUT US

Welcome to the MTNA Collegiate Chapter of CU Boulder! As a collegiate chapter of the Music Teachers National Association, we are passionate about developing well-rounded music students of all instrumental backgrounds, while also furthering our own teaching and performance knowledge. Every year, we coordinate special events and bring guest speakers to the CU Boulder College of Music to share their knowledge with us.

The Music Teachers National Association is an organization dedicated to bringing music teachers together by hosting networking opportunities, presenting nationally recognized pedagogical speakers, and distributing the American Music Teacher magazine. Both this national organization, and the state organizations under its umbrella, additionally hold annual conferences for music teachers of all backgrounds and levels.

In 2018, the chapter was honored to receive the Chapter of the Year Award at the MTNA National Conference in Florida. Throughout the past few years, we have maintained an active presence at state and national conferences, presenting virtually and in-person at the MTNA National Conference, the CSMTA State Conference, the MTNA Collegiate Chapters Piano Pedagogy Symposium and the NCKP conference.
